An article is only as durable as the arrangements that keep it readable and findable. This page states exactly where OAIJSS content is held, what each arrangement does, and — in section 5 — what the journal does not claim.

1. What is preserved

The preserved object is the version of record: the published article as a PDF galley, together with its full bibliographic metadata, its abstract and reference list, and its place in a numbered volume and issue. Every issue published since 2018 remains openly available, and no article is removed from the archive once published. Where an article is corrected or retracted, the original remains retrievable and is marked; see Corrections and Retractions.

2. Where the content is held

ArrangementWhat it holdsHow to verify
The journal’s own installationPrimary copy: full text, galleys, metadata and the editorial record, on Open Journal Systems operated by HM PublisherThe issue archive, open without registration
CrossrefA registered DOI and deposited metadata for every article, under prefix 10.37275 — the durable pointer that keeps citations resolving even if a web address changesCrossref search by ISSN
OAI-PMH interfaceMetadata for every article, open for harvesting by any service; protocol version 2.0, with records from 6 April 2020 onwardThe repository identification response
LOCKSS and CLOCKSS manifestsPublisher manifests that allow a participating library’s preservation system to locate and harvest the journal’s issuesLOCKSS manifest · CLOCKSS manifest
Third-party metadata holdingsIndependent copies of the journal’s bibliographic record, which keep the journal findable even if its own site is unavailableThe ISSN record lists OpenAlex, Fatcat, Crossref and ROAD; nationally, Garuda
Author self-archivingCopies deposited by authors in institutional and subject repositories, with no embargoTerms at Copyright and Author Rights

3. Persistent identification

Every article carries a DOI registered with Crossref, and the DOI is the citable address of the article. Authors and readers are asked to cite the DOI rather than a page address. The journal does not reuse or withdraw a DOI: an article that is corrected keeps its DOI, and a retracted article keeps its DOI and remains resolvable to a page that states the retraction. Metadata deposited to Crossref is updated when an article is corrected or retracted, so that services relying on Crossref learn of the change.

4. Open access and the right to copy

Because OAIJSS is fully open access under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, any reader, library or repository may make and keep a copy of any article under the terms of that licence. Open licensing is itself a preservation measure: content that may be lawfully copied is far more likely to survive than content that may not. Authors may deposit the submitted, accepted and published versions without embargo; see Copyright and Author Rights.

5. What the journal does not claim

Publishing a LOCKSS or CLOCKSS manifest is not the same as being preserved in a dark archive. The manifests above make the journal harvestable by a participating institution’s preservation system. OAIJSS does not claim membership of the CLOCKSS archive, nor participation in the PKP Preservation Network, and will not claim either until it can be verified by a reader.

The journal states this plainly because an overstated preservation claim misleads authors about the durability of their work, and because under Indonesian national journal accreditation an unverifiable claim is treated as a serious matter. Where the journal joins a preservation network, this page will be updated and the evidence linked.

6. Continuity if the journal ceases or changes hands

HM Publisher undertakes that, should OAIJSS cease publication, change publisher or transfer ownership, it will announce the change, transfer the archive so that published articles and their DOIs continue to resolve, and honour the licence under which each article was published. The undertaking, and who is responsible for it, is set out in Ownership and Management Information.

7. Reporting a problem with the archive

If an article, issue or galley will not open, if a DOI does not resolve, or if metadata is wrong or missing, write to indonesiajournalsocialsciences@gmail.com with the article title and DOI. The journal will restore access and correct the metadata, and will say so publicly where the record itself was affected.
