Editorial workflow

STEP 1

Email submission

Send the correct OAIJSS template, a separate title page, and a cover letter to indonesiajournalsocialsciences@gmail.com. State the article type: Original Article, Case Study, or Systematic Review/Meta-Analysis.

STEP 2 · 1–3 DAYS

Editorial assessment

The editorial team assesses alignment with the journal's aims and scope, originality, scholarly readiness, and similarity. Similarity screening is supported by ORCA; the final assessment remains an editorial decision.

STEP 3

OJS account creation and tracking

If the manuscript passes editorial assessment, the editorial office registers the manuscript in OJS, creates or activates the author's account, and sends the login information to the corresponding author. All subsequent progress can be monitored through OJS.

STEP 4 · APPROX. 2–4 WEEKS

Double-blind peer review

Three independent reviewers assess the manuscript, with particular attention to scholarly substance, theoretical contribution, methodological rigour, analysis, interpretation, and reporting quality. Reviewer and author identities remain concealed from one another.

STEP 5

Editorial synthesis and decision

Accept Minor revision Major revision Decline

The editor consolidates the three reports and determines the decision. The decision letter explains the required next action.

STEP 6 · 1–2 WEEKS

Author revision

For major or minor revision, authors submit a revised manuscript and a clear point-by-point response to all reviewer and editor comments within the stated period. Requests for a justified extension should be communicated promptly.

STEP 7

Re-evaluation and Letter of Acceptance

The revised manuscript is re-evaluated by the reviewers and editor as required. If the revision is satisfactory and all editorial requirements are met, the journal issues a Letter of Acceptance. Further revision may be requested when substantive concerns remain.

STEP 8 · APPROX. 1 WEEK

Copyediting and proofreading

The accepted manuscript undergoes copyediting and language proofreading supported by EIGO. The editorial team verifies the output, and the corresponding author reviews and approves the copyedited version.

STEP 9

Galley proof and production

A galley proof is prepared and sent to the corresponding author for a final check. After corrections are confirmed, the manuscript proceeds to production and publication.

Timing note: The stated timeframes are indicative and may vary according to manuscript quality, reviewer availability, revision complexity, and the completeness of the author's response.
