OAIJSS requires integrity, transparency and accountability throughout research, peer review and publication. These responsibilities apply to authors, reviewers, editors and the publisher.
Authorship and research integrity
Authorship must reflect a substantive contribution to the research and manuscript. All authors approve the submitted version and take responsibility for their contributions. Single-author manuscripts are welcome. Contributors who do not meet authorship requirements should be acknowledged with their permission. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, undisclosed duplicate publication and manipulated citations are unacceptable.
Research involving people and communities
Authors must report ethics approval or a reasoned exemption where applicable, and describe informed consent, confidentiality and protection of participants. Research with vulnerable groups, sensitive personal data or identifiable case material requires appropriate safeguards. Consent to participate does not automatically constitute consent to publish identifiable information.
Disclosure and transparency
Authors must disclose funding, sponsor involvement and financial or nonfinancial conflicts of interest. Methods, evidence and limitations must be reported accurately. Data-availability statements should explain access conditions and legitimate privacy, consent or legal restrictions. Editors may request supporting materials to assess concerns.
Peer review and editorial responsibility
Research manuscripts passing screening undergo double-blind review by at least three independent reviewers. Reviewers maintain confidentiality and disclose conflicts. Editors assess manuscripts on scholarly merit and arrange independent handling of submissions in which they have an interest. APC payments do not influence decisions.
Complaints, corrections and retractions
Concerns about misconduct, authorship, review or published content should be sent with supporting evidence to indonesiajournalsocialsciences@gmail.com. The editor will assess the concern, seek a response from relevant parties and, when appropriate, consult their institutions. Complaints about an editor are handled by an unconflicted editor or the publisher. Substantiated errors are addressed by linked corrections, expressions of concern or retractions, with a clear explanation. Retraction notices identify the affected article and reason; the scholarly record is retained except where removal is legally or ethically necessary.
Appeals and post-publication discussion
Authors may appeal an editorial decision with specific reasons and evidence. Appeals receive independent consideration; disagreement alone does not require a change in decision. Substantive, evidence-based post-publication comments are considered by the editorial office.
Use of artificial intelligence
AI tools cannot be authors. Authors must disclose substantive use of such tools and remain responsible for accuracy, originality, citations and confidentiality. Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts or personal data to external AI services without authorisation and appropriate safeguards.
